GOLD THERE IS GOLD IN THE CAPITAL GYM OF BEIJING FOR USA MEN’S VOLLEYBALL. It is difficult to explain the emotions that I and my family have regarding what has just taken place in our lives. To see Lloy stand on the podium of the 2008 Beijing Olympics is a memory that all of us will remember for the remainder of our lives. The medal is beatuiful and heavy. This is a true American story of grind, gut and determination. Overcoming the pressure of an Olympics game, a tragedy of a lost family member and still coming out on top. A true testament to mankind putting its mind to the task and making it happen.
It was a close match with the fans of both countries cheering for their respective teams. I turned to the genleman setting next to me and said THIS is what the OLYMPICS is all about. I am truly PROUD of my son and ALL the hard work he has put into reaching this goal of a gold medal. He is a true inspiration to so many of us in sport or any other walk of life to take the talents that the Lord has given you and working, and working, and working and believing and having the support of your family to make your dream come true. A true OLYMPIC CHAMPION (LLOY BALL) and the 2008 USA VOLLEYBALL TEAM.
CONGRATULATIONS !!!!!
This is the last blog from Beijing as the next couple of days are traveling to return to the Fort. We look forward to returning home and seeing all you.
Have a blessed day.
Arnie
Congratualtions! We are so thrilled for you. What a tremendous accomplishment and the achievement of a lifetime after all of the hard work and dedication. I am in KS with my sisters and we can’t wait to see the match live and scream in support of USA as we have done throughout these games. Safe trip home and God bless.

Congratulations! I’ve watched Lloy play in the past 2 Olympics, and while I don’t recall all these anger-related stuff the news articles mention, I do remember the great frustration that was obvious on his face. So it’s truly a great story to see a grizzled veteran finding a new peak in his play + reaching the top. Best wishes for you and Lloy and the family. Golden!
I just saw the pics on the olympic web site and must admit that I teared.
TO the team, HELL YAY USA ALL THE WAY.
To Lloy you deserve this and rock on. I am so happy for you that you could share this with your family.
To Arnie and Sandy, you raised an Olympic Gold medalist!!!!!! Rock On!
Coach Ball and Family,

Way to go Lloy and Team USA!! You guys were amazing. Coach Ball, someone even wrote a song about Lloy on YouTube!
Congrats to Lloy and Team USA!! I’ve been following Lloy’s successes since I played volleyball in high school (mid 90’s) and it is so wonderful to finally see him with a well-deserved gold medal!! Although my career ended after high school (I’m too short) being a setter from Indiana myself, Lloy has always been amazing to watch and a true inspiration. I wish him the best in the future, and I’ll always be a fan. =)
